Florida Stingrays Win 2003 Suncoast Classic!
Strong Defense Carries Team
wrap-up from St. Petersburg, FL
January 17th, 18th and 19th, 2003
The Stingrays went undefeated in the three day tournament, winning all six
games prior to their victory in the championship game. Anita Marks,
Stingrays QB, was chosen MVP of the championship game and applauded the
team's defense in her expression of thanks.
The Blue Angels were surprise finalists after going 0-3 in the pool play and
being seeded 13th, but on Sunday's single elimination format, they played
strong defense giving up only 12 points in 3 games. Their offense never got
on track against the Stingrays swarming defense.
