New York TNT proves themselves, again!
Rolling big in Las Vegas…

wrap-up from Las Vegas, NV
September 17th - 19th

\

New York earns their respect once again in our 2004 Desert Classic held in Las Vegas, NV on September 17th – 19th, 2004.

Teams from the east coast came to the west to showcase their flag football skills.   The teams involved in the tournament were the Virginia’s Badd Girls, Florida’s Flag Sport Queen Beez, New York’s TNT, Virginia’s Playmakers and Atlanta’s Lyte-N-Tyte.

All of the teams let it ride in Vegas!!

Though a bit windy, the weather was gorgeous every day with a view of the Vegas mountains surrounding us in the background.  Round Robin Play began on Friday evening and continued through Saturday morning.  What a tournament!  Almost every game was decided by no more than a touchdown.

New York’s TNT(2nd seed) and Florida’s Flag Sport Queen Beez (1st seed) proved themselves to be the top competition throughout the tournament.  Though Flag Sport Queen Beez took the first win away from TNT in Round Robin play, TNT brought it to the table when it counted.  Both teams came to play, but TNT took control toward the end and beat Flag Sport Queen Beez 12-6 taking home the 1st place Cash Prize of $500.00.

Florida’s Flag Sport Queen Beez came up short in the end but took home the 2nd place Cash Prize of $250.00.   Florida was lead by their quaterback, Anita Marks, throughout the tournament.  Anita marched her troops into battle over the weekend, her defensive squad was the one to watch.  They were unstoppable pulling flags left and right.  Kudos goes out to the Flag Sport Queen Beez and their efforts in putting it all on the table.   Atlanta’s Lyte-N-Tyte received a $150.00 Cash Prize for finishing in 3rd place.

Nathalie Jufer - #20, TNT, made it easy for the officials to pick out the MVP selection. She is a player with heart in everything she does on the field.  Whether Natalie is running a route, catching a pass, running out of an “I” formation, or just cheering her teammates on the sidelines, she leaves nothing on the field and plays with everything she has.

She is a true athlete and plays with all heart, she deserved the MVP award for the 2004 Desert Classic.  Congratulations Nathalie and TNT for a successful tournament!

Thanks to all the participants, and please help us in our efforts to promote WAFFF all across the country.  We can't do this without you!
